Thankfully I resisted the urge to say "I'm your biggest fan" but told him that although I loved his stuff I didn't love it enough to buy a second copy of any of his albums to get it signed. He signed my review notes from the previous day though.

I first saw her at Trowbridge when she was very young, very nervous and singing with a band called Oigie. She would sit down on a chair for the tracks she wasn't singing on; there was no sitting down in this set.

The beer tent was almost empty so we took the weight off our feet and sat for a while. It soon got a lot busier.

The downside of camping out at Coldhams is that you need to carry everything with you all day. The upside is that I had my full length Driza Bone on when Malcolm was wearing a tee shirt. My hat was too small for him but he was able to dash back to his tent, grab his coat and get back relatively dry.

Los Lobos had a stage presence that few matched this weekend, I guess that comes with 30 plus years of experience.

A line from the Saw Doctors' final track "Hay Wrap" , not as famous as "get that wasp off my sandwich" but after an hour of continual singing and dancing (that's me as well as the band) a pint of porter would have hit the spot. Fortunately the Fatea crew had got a couple of flagons and a pint of best was waiting for me as I staggered back through the mud.
